Ganesh, the remover of obstacles,
peers out through rheumy eyes,
his legs and trunk contorted
like a Picassoesque cubist character
while the sea serpent Midgarsormr
encircles the world,
a sword hilt jutting out of its head,
a pony along for the ride.
A big-eyed elf bounces on the high wire.
Multi-hued women gather at the reflecting pool
waiting for the white rabbit to go down his hole.
A newborn Medusa with a flat nose and closed eyes
utters her first cry beside the ghost of a metropolis
shut down by a tiny red tufted corona.
